Individuals will receive one to one sculpting instruction from Philippe Faraut, using water-based clay while still being encouraged to explore their own styles.

Attending students range from beginners to professional artists. The goal of this animal sculpting seminar is to teach sculptors how to improve their techniques and speed through the use of blocking-in methods which allows the artist to achieve precise volumes from the beginning stages regardless of the animal species. Reference includes the use of plaster art casts. Students are also encouraged to bring their own high-quality photographic reference. Please note that this class will focus on mammals.

• Surface anatomy
• Textures of various flesh and furs
• Discussions on finishing techniques and firing schedules

All materials are provided for use during the seminar, however firing services will not be available. Class hours are from 9-4:30 daily. Enrollment ranges from 14-18 students.

A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $200 is required for registration. Balance of $395 for the seminar will be due 6 weeks prior to the first day of class. Once balance is paid it is non-refundable.
